Hi! I'm Ruby.

I'm the founder of Sylph Creatives. I've worked as a research scientist, science book author, physical chemistry instructor, and primary school teacher. I'm now working as a curriculum specialist while raising my little boy (Yuno) and pursuing my passion for instructional design.

I live in a lovely house on the side of a mountain. I spend most days playing with my little one, drinking bullet coffee, reading books, writing with my colourful pens, and creating educational resources.

My Story

About a decade ago, I was working as a Math and Science teacher. I was teaching first to sixth grade students. I loved my work! Being a teacher was a lifelong dream (I knew I wanted to be an educator ever since I was five years old). I love working with children and sharing my passion for learning.

I worked every day to find and create resources that address my children's needs. I tried to make my educational materials fun, effective, inclusive, and personalised.

But things are not always easy. Teaching is challenging.

Three months (yes, just three months) after I started teaching, I was already feeling drained and overwhelmed with all the tasks I have to accomplish. I didn't let that overwhelm stop me from being the teacher my students needed me to be.

But how I wish I had access to resources that can be easily edited, translated, and personalised so that they can be the best for my kids. And I really hoped that these resources were free.

I know how hard it is to find free and editable resources for kids. Which brings me to you.

My mission is to support you.
